Our Research -
Clinical Themes 

 
 

Research projects have been selected in the Mental Health theme to be service-facing by improving standard clinical care to externally set best practice standards or enhance care through innovation. All  studies meet East Midlands Darzi Review Priorities.

Our Stroke Rehabilitation theme aims to increase the capacity of the stroke rehabilitation community to engage with and apply research findings. We aim to improve the delivery of care and evidence-based stroke rehabilitation services for stroke survivors.

Our Children and Young People theme (CYPT) undertakes a range of projects aimed at improving young people's mental health and promoting healthy behaviours. We focus on early intervention, disruptive behaviour problems and obesity.

Our Primary Care studies inform preventative and management interventions for chronic illness in primary care, and aim to improve service effectiveness. All studies address important local issues for service development and public health.

The growing population of older people is one of the greatest challenges facing health and social care. In March 2011, the CLAHRC adopted a fifth theme which encompasses Older People’s Health and Wellbeing.
