£120m for second round of CLAHRCs

On 9th January 2013 the Secretary of State for Health announced a new competition for up to twelve NIHR Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care around the country, to ensure that the best evidence gained from research continues to be applied directly to the NHS to improve the lives of patients. This second round of CLAHRCs will receive funding for a 5 year period commencing 1st January 2014.

£120 million is available to fund up to twelve collaborations that can demonstrate a very substantial portfolio of world-class applied health research, particularly research targeted at chronic disease and public health interventions, and a track record in translating research findings into improved outcomes for patients. The deadline for submission is 13th May 2013.

CLAHRC NDL have already completed a considerable amount of preparatory work together in preparation for this call, and look forward to working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and key stakeholders in the coming months.

To find out more, see the Department of Health press release or visit the CLAHRC page of the NIHR website.
